Description
With the CS 3500 intraoral scanner, practitioners can easily acquire precise true color, 2D and 3D digital impressions. The CS 3500 The CS 3500 works as part of the integrated CS Solutions CAD/CAM restoration portfolio, or a standalone solution in a practice’s restorative workflow. Requiring no external heater or trolley system, the CS 3500 features high-angulation scanning of up to 45 degrees and to a depth from -2 to +13mm. Additionally, the CS 3500 features a unique light guidance system that aids in the capture of the data during the image acquisition process.
The CS 3500 also offers unique dedicated scanning workflows for both implant-borne prosthetic planning and orthodontic digital models and appliance fabrication.
Faster Scan Speed
The CS 3500 does not require users to spray powder or liquid over the patient’s teeth and gingival tissue prior to scanning, creating a more comfortable experience for the patient while reducing the amount of time needed to acquire an intraoral scan. Additionally, the intraoral scanner has an internal heater so the mirror doesn’t fog during digital impression acquisition.
*In some situations, where the item to be scanned is uniform in dimension and highly reflective (a standard abutment), the use of an anti-reflecting liquid or powder may be necessary. Alternatively, a micro abrader (sand blaster) may be used to roughen the highly reflective surface to decrease the reflection.
Superb Digital Impressions
The CS 3500 delivers 2D and 3D images in high resolution and in true color. Colored 3D scans allow practitioners to easily define the margin lines and identify the differences between natural tooth structure and existing restorations. This makes restoration planning more accurate for practitioners. Additionally, true color images help patients visualize their cases. In addition to 3D intraoral scanning, the CS 3500 can also acquire high resolution 1024 x 768 2D clinical images with true color.
Additionally, according to a recent study published by PLOS ONE, a peer-reviewed open access scientific journal, the CS 3500 surpassed leading competitors by delivering the best performance in terms of overall trueness and precision.
Light Guidance System
The CS 3500 intraoral scanner includes a light guidance system that aides in the capture of the data during the image acquisition process, allowing the user to place more focus on the patient’s mouth rather than the monitor.
Portable for Easy Sharing
The CS 3500 can be easily shared between operatories because there is no heavy trolley to push around. Additionally, the intraoral scanner connects via USB 2 cable* to any PC workstation or laptop.
*Requires 64 bit version of Windows 7 Professional
Lightweight Hand Piece
The CS 3500’s sleek, lightweight design (295 grams) makes it comfortable and easy for users to navigate the intraoral scanner around patients’ mouths, especially during full arch acquisitions.
Flexible, Open System
The CS 3500 can be integrated with the other components of the CS Solutions CAD/CAM restoration portfolio, which offers versatile digital impression options that provide practitioners with greater flexibility. Practitioners can capture digital impressions directly with the CS 3500 and the image data can then be used with CS Restore software to design a restoration, which is then milled with the CS 3000. The CS 3500 can also be used as a standalone solution in a practice’s restorative workflow, and is compatible with other open system CAD software such as Dental Wings, 3Shape and exocad*.If restorations are being designed and milled by a lab, data can be sent directly to the lab via CS Connect software.**
Scans can also be exported as open STL files, and are completely free of indexing, and are delivered in occlusion—unlike competitive systems, which require end-users to send several indexed STL files for specific restorative outcomes. The open file STL format of the CS 3500 allows clinicians and labs to easily work from just a single STL file to achieve the best restorative outcome for the patient.

**CS Connect software may not be available at launch in some countries
Designed with Patient Comfort in Mind
Since one size does not fit all, the scanner tips are available in two sizes, a standard tip for adults and a smaller, tapered tip for children and adults with small mouths.
A new, reusable comfort collar provides cushioning to the scanner tip, which simplifies scanning by allowing the tip to come into contact with the patient’s teeth while providing additional patient comfort during anterior scanning.
